On 28 February 2023, the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament reached a provisional agreement on the establishment of the European Green Bond Standard ("EuGB").

With regards to the presentation of the revised National Budget, the Norwegian government announced their plans concerning the introduction of a moderate production tax on onshore wind power production from 2022.

This update explores some high level trends and legal developments across some of Norway's key sectors that have an international impact.

Approximately 2.4 million tonnes of salmon is farmed each year currently, with about a third of this aquaculture in Norway.

A common Nordic market is developing for green certificates (for further details please see "Nordic Market Anticipated for Green Certificates"). The authorities had aimed to present a defined plan to the Norwegian Parliament in Spring 2004, but did not stay on schedule. However, on November 24 2004 the Norwegian government presented a proposal based on the EU Renewable Energy Directive, which sets targets for renewable energy consumption in EU member states. The proposal aims to increase renewab
