In May 2023 the Prime Minister issued the long-awaited Decision 500, approving the national power development plan which is broadly known as

Extended producer responsibility ("EPR"), a strategy whereby producers are held accountable for the environmental impact of their products throughout their entire life cycle, including disposal and recycling, has become more and more familiar to manufacturers in Vietnam.

The Prime Minister has recently issued the long-awaited Decision 500, approving the national power development plan ("PDP8"). Decision 500 took effect on May 15, 2023.
